Moon.......

Oh so beautiful, you shine, almost whole, just a shadow to go.
Can I live with you? Do you have what I need?
Warmth to caress me? Water to feed me? Strength to guide me?

From here, on my own, you look like the most wonderful thing I have ever seen.
You glow in the sky like a beacon, calling me, calling me.
I can never join you.
I can only gaze like cats do and feel the tug of your power.

When I see you, I can only wonder what it would be like to be with you;
You are my master, you rule my emotions.
When you are there I am happy and full of life;
When you are gone, I’m just ordinary.

I feel safe when you are there looking down on me,
And I love to just stand and stare at you.
You give me the strength I need,
I love you.

Lonely....

My mind is a’jumble of stories & ideas,
But without companionship I fill the machine.
The machine spills them out for all to see,
But is there really anyone out there ?
I really cant tell.

Egyptian Garden.....

Follow me now & I will take u into an Egyptian garden.
For most people arriving in Egypt is like a huge shock, they call it planet Egypt for a reason, it’s of another world. Firstly it’s sooo hot & everything is dusty & the shrubs & trees are more brown than green. Secondly the culture is so very different & the poverty & living conditions of the average Egyptian is hard to comprehend. I have tried to live there, but I found it stifling & very oppressive.
BUT, I did find a place that will stay with me forever; I went there regularly to think. By day this place seems dry & dull, but at night it takes on a new perspective. I found it by accident, I was cutting through the famous old Winter Palace hotel grounds to go home after work & as I stepped out of the hotel foyer into the garden I was greeted with the sweet smell of night flowering Jasmine. This stopped me in my tracks, I looked around & I was alone there, I thought what harm for me to sit for a while by the pool. So I walked on through to the pool & lay down on a sun bed, closed my eyes & drank in the heady scent of the jasmine. When I opened my eyes the garden had taken on a surreal quality I had not seen by day, it was quiet for a start, all the noise of the city had disappeared, just a few crickets singing in the trees. Small lights to guide the guests were now lighting up the palms which seem to reach so high up into the night sky, they almost seem to touch the stars, creating a cathedral like cavern over me. The jasmine bushes around me seemed to be alight with the bright white of their blooms, their scent making my body feel alive & sensual. The sky was clear & the stars appeared to be changing colours as they twinkled. I lay there for a long time just seeing, & I felt at peace for the first time since I had moved to Egypt, after that I went there often & especially when I was troubled & I always left with a feeling of peace. I wonder who sits there now, has anyone since discovered this place of tranquilly? What a find, more precious than any ancient tomb.

THE BOOTS BAG LADY.

A story that has been doing the rounds in Luxor for a few years now, is the ‘Boots Bag’ lady. The story goes that a couple stayed in the Isis hotel In Luxor, & over the two weeks that they were there, the woman had been taken in by one of the local gigolo’s. He is Eamon, who has a concession trinket stall within the hotel, he has Egyptian wife & children, but also has several English ones to. One notably is Barbara, who has a face like a Pekinese dog, but has lots of money, haha.
Anyway, this woman believed everything Eamon  said & fell for him in a big way, lord knows why, he’s horrible. When it comes to time to leave, he tells her he’ll be waiting for her when she comes back; silly woman believes him. The day after she goes home with her husband, she packs a boots carrier bag, leaves him a note & heads back to the airport, boards a plane & lands in Luxor, no money, no luggage, just the bloody boots bag. She goes to the hotel & heads strait to Eamons shop, where he is entertaining his wife Barbara, who is out for 2 weeks. Of course, uproar follows & the woman is left distraught & with nowhere to go. She heads for the Guest Relations desk & asks for help, she has no money & the bloody Boots bag is all she has. She Is so lucky though, the guest relations rep is kind & contacts the husband, who is also very kind considering what she’d done, & they manage to arrange a flight back. God knows what she went home to, her husband would have to be a very understanding man to accept her back, but at least he helped her. We did have a good laugh when the story broke, but actually its quite sad, maybe because I fell in love with an Egyptian I can understand it, but these women, they leave their brains at the airport, they don’t see how its all a con. I had my whit’s with me & did some investigating before I decided anything, & I got lucky, very lucky.

My own version of the works Christmas Speech....

Good morning, 1st I’d like to introduce myself to those who don’t know me, my name is CRISPY SIMON, I’m in charge of those in charge. I’m here today because Graham Mullun had to finish his Christmas shopping.

As you must be aware, we went through a very bad patch earlier this year & I seriously considered divorcing you all. Now however I am very pleased to be able to tell you that we are doing very well, & its all thanks to YOU & not ME ! The last couple of months you have done very well for me, & I am now able to buy that new car I saw & just had to have.

We have made many changes, meant to confuse & disorientate you, but it seems we didn’t succeed & you all managed to pull through without slitting your wrists, OH, & not many people had to leave, or die either!

Now for the news you’ve all been waiting for, last year we said we were going to change the bonus scheme, well we’ve been thinking &, well the best option is to abolish it altogether, but thought we might not live long. So it has been decided to give you options to buy shares at half price. The current share price is 1P & anyone with half a P is welcome to apply for a whole P.

The grading system is another area we said we’d look at, & the best we can come up with is to leave it alone. We discovered in our research that the shop floor staff know more about the product than we do, & so have decided that perhaps its best if you continue to tell us what to do. Sensible suggestions are always welcome. All managers will now have their wages cut by half, as from 1st January 2002. The money saved will go to a stress counselling fund for all supervisors, section leaders & operators.

Now we come to holiday days. We notice that some of you have extra weeks off in the form of sick leave, & we don’t like sick leave. This year we have decided to award 28 extra days to those of you who feel they don’t get enough holiday. Sick leave has now been discontinued & anyone found in the pub, will be given money from the stress fund before being dismissed.

Lastly Cost of living. Last year we told you we wouldn’t be giving you a cost of living rise across the board. Well the board have had theirs & If anyone thinks they deserve one, please see me when I’ve finished test driving my new car !

Well that’s all for now, if you have any questions please don’t ask me, I don’t know the answers.

So all that’s left to say is = HAPPY CHRISTMAS & a HAPPY NEW YEAR, & DON’T FORGET TO COME BACK NEXT YEAR. Not returning a after a public holiday is a dismissible offence.

When a blind man cries.......

When a blind man cries, he looks at the sun,
but sees no light....
Then the sun dries the tears on his cheek, & all that's left is salt.

When a blind man cries, he looks at the moon,
but he sees nothing,
& only feels the tug of its power in his soul....

When a blind man cries, he cries on his own,
he sees nothing, & no one sees him....
Except GOD....

When a blind man cries.....
God dries his tears with the warmth of the sun.
God heals his soul with the power of the moon.
God sees him & helps him to see.
God loves………..

7ala's gone mad..............

Imagination is a scary thing,
fantasies  fly, paranoia sets in.
One day my imagination will kill me;
My heart bleeds for dreams unreal,
words unsaid, & the need to say them.
It scares me....how much i feel,
& it hurts me how much i cant say.....
The words bursting through my head like an unforgiving torrent.
Wonderful person indeed..................
